I’m Jamie, a web programmer who accidentally became a founder. For 15 years, I ran a digital agency that rode the wave of ecommerce, and now in the 16th year, I’m in the messy middle: reinventing, rebuilding, and doing more with less.

Must Do Better is not only a mantra I live by, but also the name of this blog, where I write candidly about my journey – the experiments, the mistakes, the wins, and the lessons learned along the way. Here, you’ll find:

  • Founder reflections on agency reinvention, imposter syndrome, and leading when things go squiffy.

  • Practical experiments with AI tools, automation, and better ways to manage projects and client work. (There may also be some gadgets… maybe more than some.)

  • Notes from ecommerce & tech – why the monolith worked, why it’s breaking down, and what comes next.

This is not a polished guru playbook. It’s a working journal. If you're after glossy corporate thought leadership, this ain’t it. If you want the raw notes of someone figuring it out as they go, in real time, welcome aboard!
