I’m Jamie, a writer of things. For over 20 years this has predominantly taken the form of computer code. As creative as this can be (seriously), my passion has always been more traditionally though of creative writing. I’m an aspiring novelist at the very start of my writing journey.

Must Do Better is not only a mantra I live by, but also the name of this blog, where I write candidly about my journey as a writer – the experiments, the mistakes, the wins, and the lessons learned along the way. Here, you’ll find:

• Reflections on self reinvention, imposter syndrome, and the journey from agency owner and computer programmer to creative writer.

• Creative writing – well, yes - to be expected. I will be using this platform to write… creatively.

Hopefully some of the things I write will be interesting to others, as well as serving as a key part of my development on the journey to becoming… somebody that writes for a living.
